Abstract
The Order adopts the Charter of the Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. It consists of 10 articles: General provisions (1); Scope of activities (2); Authority and functions of the Laboratory (3); Management of the Laboratory (4); Structure of the Laboratory (5); Functions of the structural units and territorial bodies of the Laboratory (6); State supervision of the Laboratory (7); Source of financing of the Laboratory (8); Property of the Laboratory (9); and Final provisions (10). According to the Charter, the Laboratory’s functions, among others, include laboratorial diagnostics of animal (i.e. birds, fish, bees) diseases; research of animal and plant-based food, feed, and potable water; testing plant materials and soil samples for plant quarantine and other dangerous organisms; assessment of the risk of an outbreak of a transmissible animal disease; and participating in animal disease quarantine measures.
