Resolution No. 317 of 2018 of Georgian Government on Requirements Imposed on Materials and Items in Contact with Food

This Resolution provides requirements imposed on materials and items in contact with food. It consists of 16 articles: General provisions (1); Purpose and scope of application (2); Definition of terms (3); General requirements (4); Special requirements imposed on active materials and items, and “smart” materials and items (5); Special measures imposed on materials and item groups (6); Materials and item groups authorized to come into contact with food (7); Requirements for authorization of new substances (8); Obligations of business operators (9); Labelling (10); Compliance declaration (11); Traceability (12); Protective measures (13); Confidentiality (14); Use of existing information (15); and State control (16). The Resolution also adopts Annex 1 Materials and Item Groups which May Be Subject to Special Measures; and Annex 2 Symbol-Mark.
