Abstract
The Resolution lays down general principles and requirements for traceability in the areas of food/feed safety, veterinary and plant protection. It consists of five articles: General provisions (1); Purpose and scope of application (2); Definition of terms (3); General principles and requirements for traceability (4); and Special requirements for traceability of food of animal origin (5). The obligation to ensure traceability is imposed on business operators. The purpose of the Resolution is to protect consumer rights and provide for measures such as restricting/prohibiting or removing products from market in case of non-compliance. The Resolution applies to food/feed, any substance that is used for food/feed, animals, plants, animal and plant products, veterinary drugs, pesticides and agro-chemicals.
