Abstract
The Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Development Strategy 2014-202 is a regional multi-sectoral strategy of Georgia’s Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Among others, its objectives include: more efforts to attract investments in the local economy; promoting development of entrepreneurship in the region through efficient services supporting small and medium-sized enterprises; supporting development of entrepreneurship in the region; promotion of tourism development in the region; support in use the region’s energy potential; development of crossborder cooperation in the region; development of agriculture productivity and competitiveness in the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti; improvement of the region’s communication infrastructure by building and rehabilitating regional and local roads; introduction of waste management standards for safety assurance of ecosystem and local population; effective use of the region’s natural resources; use of alternative energy resources available in the region; and support to creation and development of sustainable timber industry system and improve general conditions in the regional forests.
