Abstract
The Shida Kartli Regional Development Strategy 2014-2021 is a regional multi-sectoral strategy of Georgia’s Shida Kartli region. Its main priorities are constant development of agricultural production; development of agricultural businesses; development of other businesses (except for agricultural) focused on the region’s available resources; existence of human capital assets required for the development and supply of necessary services; and existence of environmentally safe and comfortable environment. It additional objectives include develop farms by means of consolidation; develop agricultural production by introducing and applying modern technological methods and materials in the agricultural production; inform farmers about modern practices and experience, introduce innovative methods in the sector; develop the processing and storage cycle of agricultural production; develop the service sector; promote further development of tourism and recreation; develop construction business and production of building materials; produce energy from water and alternative sources; provide decent dwellings; raise environmental awareness and education; sustainable water management; improve soil condition; establish one modern waste dump in the region; protect the forest eco-system and biodiversity; and foster environmentally sustainable practices.
