Abstract
The directive from the Ministry of Health mandates the fortification of all locally produced and imported wheat flour and vegetable oils to combat malnutrition. It specifies compliance with Ghana Standards GS 811:2006 and GS 812:2006 for fortified wheat flour and GS 813:2006 for fortified vegetable oils. Companies involved in production or importation must register with the Food and Drugs Board (FDB) and all the labeling on the wheat flour and or vegetable oil(s) must conform to the approved format as specified by the FDB. All companies are to comply with these interim regulatory measures on fortification of wheat flour and or vegetable oil(s) in the interest of public health.
