Abstract
The amendments of the Fisheries Regulations 1979 concern: (a) regulation 5 on the importation, selling or use of certain type of fishing net prohibited ("No person shall manufacture, import into, sell or use in Ghana any fishing net or netting the mesh of which is less than 25 millimetres in stretched diagonal length. The use of such net for the purpose of taking fish from any body of water is prohibited");
(b) regulation 7 on minimum requirements of mesh in trawl nets ("No person shall operate from or carry upon or in any motor fishing vessel a trawl net the mesh of which is less than 60 millimetres in stretched diagonal length");
(c) Schedule 2 establishing licence fees for fishing vessels other than tuna vessels built or registered in Ghana and licence fees for tuna vessels and carriers.
