Hazardous and Electronic Waste Control and Management Act, 2016 (Act 917)

This Act provides for the control, management and disposal of hazardous waste, electrical and electronic waste and for related purposes. Specifically, it also provides for the Control and Management of Hazardous Wastes and Other Wastes; control and management of polychlorinated biphenyls; electrical and electronic waste levy; electrical and electronic waste management fund; and electrical and electrical waste recycling plant and other provisions. It further approves the First Schedule - List of hazardous wastes and other wastes; Second Schedule - Notification Form for transboundary movement or shipment of waste; Third Schedule - Movement document for transboundary movement or shipment of waste; Fourth Schedule - Classification of polychlorinated biphenyls waste for segregation; and Fifth Schedule - List of items for which levy is applicable.
