Abstract
The Policy outlines Ghana’s National Action Plan (NAP) to reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs), aligning with government transformation programs and contributing to global temperature reduction. The NAP includes 16 SLCP mitigation measures across various sectors, aiming to reduce emissions, avoid mortality, crop loss, and contribute to global warming reduction. The NAP aims to systematically reduce SLCP emissions through feasible, politically correct, economically sound, socially acceptable, and environmentally friendly measures. The vision is to promote economic growth, eradicate extreme poverty, and improve health and well-being by addressing air pollution and climate change. The Policy follows the following objectives: integrate SLCP mitigation measures into national and sector plans; mobilize funding for specific interventions to control SLCP emissions; and create national awareness of the immediate and long-term benefits of addressing SLCP emissions.
