Abstract
The National Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDG) for Ghana aim to promote healthy diets, reduce malnutrition, and curb the rise of diet-related non-communicable diseases. They provide evidence-based recommendations to improve access to nutritious foods, support healthier eating environments, and strengthen government and partner capacity to ensure safe and healthy food consumption. Guiding principles of the Guidleines include diet and production diversity, market access to healthy food, enhanced value chains, capacity strenghtening, scientific evidence, practicality and sustainability. The development of Ghana’s FBDG followed FAO and WHO best practices. The text contains 13 Food-Based Recommednations.
