National Plastic Management Policy.

The Policy provides for the comprehensive management of plastics to solve current environmental challenges and to act as a tool for sustainable development. The policy objectives are to grow the economy, create jobs, protect the environment, including mitigation of climate change, solve the challenges associated with comprehensive plastics management, thereby improving the state of the environment and public health. The Policy further will develop a road map to progressively reduce the use of plastics, recover, recycle and re-manufacture plastics. The key cross-sectoral issues that are considered for reaching to the objectives of the Policy are science, technology and innovation, finance, communication and education, governance, and partnership to improve synergies and effectiveness of all sustainable efforts. The strategic actions of the Policy are behavioural change, strategic planning and cross-sectoral collaboration, resource mobilization towards a circular economy and good governance, inclusiveness and shared accountability.
