National Science Technology and Innovation Policy.

This Policy is drafted in light of Ghana's ambition to become a middle-income country that necessitates a comprehensive development vision to integrate Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) into national strategies. This vision aims to harness the full capacity of the nation's science and technology to achieve objectives such as poverty reduction, enhanced competitiveness of enterprises, sustainable environmental management, and industrial growth. The specific objectives include mastering scientific and technological capabilities, fostering inter-institutional collaboration to develop STI programs across all economic sectors, improving infrastructure for research and innovation, supporting trade and export through STI, and promoting a culture of science, technology, and innovation. The text provides that agriculture is crucial for achieving food security in Ghana, and that the environment must be managed sustainably through the integration of STI to enhance quality and sustainability. The Policy is designed in 5 Chapters and Chapter 3 discuss about the sector-specific policies and measures including agriculture, health, education, energy, industry, trade, environment and natural resources.
