Abstract
This Act makes provision with respect to development and spatial planning declared planning areas. It sets out powers of the Minister and provides for the transfer of powers from the Town and Country Planning Board to the Minister. The Minister shall appoint a planning committee for a declared planning area and establish a scheme for that area in accordance with provisions of this Act. The Minister may (compulsory) acquire land or other real property for purposes of carrying into effect provisions of the scheme. Some powers of local authorities in respect of development are reserved or delegated by the Minister.
