Abstract
These Guidelines, implementing provisions of the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2011, provide for ensuring the application of food safety and quality requirements, helping food producers to increase good food handling practices in food warehouse, in order to minimise the risk of contamination and spoilage which can happen during storage. The Guidelines concern: warehouse management; design of premises, in order to allow handling and storage of food products in a manner that does not result in product contamination; waste management system and waste disposal facilities; lightening and ventilation of premises; control of operations, handling, transportation and storage of food, particularly rice, sugar, cereals and pulses, mineral water; warehouse cleaning and hygiene measures; personnel cleanliness and behaviour of food handlers.
