Abstract
These Guidelines, implementing provisions of the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2011, specify measures and actions for importation and exportation of products released in markets of the country. The Guidelines concern: prerequisite for importation of any food or feed product; notification prior to importation of consignment; labelling requirements and certification, if product of animal or plant origin, including: veterinary certificates from Competent Authority of exporting country and laboratory analysis, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate; avoiding any risk to human and animal health; food and feed free from microbiological, chemical and physical hazards; establishing limits for food additives; frequency of inspection and testing of imported food or feed; prerequisite and requirements for exportation of any food or feed product.
