The Maritime Zones Act, no. 2 of 2019.

This Act, consisting of 11 Sections and divided into three Parts, provides for declaring the maritime zones of The Gambia: territorial sea, contiguous area and exclusive economic zone, and therefore defines: coordinates of all the maritime zones; geographical referencing system; straight line. The Act concerns: breadth and outer limits of the territorial sea; sovereignty of the Republic of The Gambia over its territorial sea, the air space over the territorial sea, its seabed and subsoil; extension of the contiguous zone and powers and controls over this area; limits of the exclusive economic zone; rights, jurisdiction and duties in the exclusive economic zone; internal waters; power to make Regulations.
