Medicines Control Agency of The Gambia 5-Year Strategic Plan 2019-2023.

This Strategic Plan provides guidelines and directions for improving the work of the Medicines Control Agency in The Gambia over the five years period 2019-2023. The purpose of the Strategic Plan is to: design strategies for achieving the vision, mission and objectives of the Agency; develop performance indicators for monitoring and evaluation; implementing an operational plan as a basis for increasing both technical and financial assistance in order to facilitate the achievement of the goals. The Mission of the Agency aims at achieving the highest standards of quality, safety and efficacy for medicines and related products, in order to safeguard public health. The Strategic Plan defines the following goals: establishing an effective and efficient medicines and related products regulatory system; mobilising technical and financial resources for implementing the Agency functions; creating a functioning quality control laboratory to support regulatory activities; undertaking necessary operational research activities; developing an effective information management system; promoting partnership and international cooperation.
