Abstract
The Minister may make regulations with respect to matters specified in section 7 including measures ensuring the purity of water supply, the slaughtering of animals for use as food for human consumption, the keeping of domestic animals, the disposal of dead animals, the production and offering for sale for human consumption, the standards of identification, and composition and quality of food offered for sale. No person shall operate a business or trade without a valid health certificate issued by the Director of Health Services. A business or trade conducted without a valid health certificate or in insanitary conditions may be closed by the Director or any health officer (sect. 11). No person shall sell or distribute unwholesome food. Imported food shall be presented to a health officer at the port of entry. The health officer shall take samples of food imported (sect. 12).
