Decision no. 1507/303008 of 2022 concerning the establishment of the National Centre for Disease Control.

This Decision of the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, considering the epizootic situation in Greece regarding and several confirmed cases of diseases, provides for establishing a National Centre for Animal Disease Control, including: foot and mouth disease, bovine nodular dermatitis, avian influenza, sheep pox, African swine fever, blue-tongue, and plague of small ruminants. The Decision defines: the staff and the members of the Centre; their duties and responsibilities, including: proposal and drawing up of a National Strategy for the control and elimination of diseases; taking all the necessary measures against the spread of the diseases; the creation of a group of experts; the monitoring and coordination of the operation of the local control centres; providing information to the European Commission, the World Organisation for Animal Health, the European Commission for Food Safety; the arrangement of financial provisions for the implementation of an emergency Plan against the spread of diseases; supply and distribution of vaccines and demarcation of vaccination zones.
