Inter-ministerial Decision no. 9269/246316 of 2020 concerning the revision of the National Action Plan (NAP) of article 18 of Law no. 4036/2012, in order to implement the Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 21, 2009 regarding the definition of a framework for community action with the aim of achieving a rational use of agricultural drugs (L 309).

The purpose of this Decision is the implementation of article 18 of the Law no. 4036 of 2012, and the paragraphs 1 and 2 of article 4 of Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and the Council, and therefore the Decision focuses on: training in the rational use of agricultural pesticides; the procedure for granting a certificate of knowledge of the rational use of pesticides; informing the public about the use and the effects of pesticides; measures to improve inspection of equipment used for pesticide application, and classification of inspected equipment; special measures for the protection of the aquatic environment and drinking water; special measures to reduce the use of agricultural pesticides or their risks in special areas; special measures for the handling and storage of agricultural drugs and the management of their packages; definition of an integrated plant protection Plan.
The Decision concerns the following specific measures: benefits from the rational use of agricultural drugs for the production of safe food; risks associated with the use of pesticides for the environment, underground and surface water resources; risks and effects of the pesticides use on wild flora and fauna, particularly insects, birds and aquatic organisms; informing the public about the effects of pesticides on bees; measures to achieve a satisfactory state of conservation of natural resources; definition of goals and objectives of the National Action Plan established by article 18 of the Law no. 4036 of 2012.
