Abstract
This Joint Ministerial Decision establishes restrictive measures for eel fishing, pursuant to Article 42 of Eel in the Mediterranean (geographical areas 1 to 27) of Council Regulation (EU) 2019/124 fixing for 2019 the fishing opportunities for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks, applicable in Union waters and, for Union fishing vessels, in certain non-Union waters. It shall apply to all fishing vessel activities and other targeted and incidental eel fishing activities. It applies to the sea and brackish waters such as estuaries, coastal lagoons and transitional waters. It shall be prohibited to fish the European Eel Anguilla anguilla for the period from 1 September to 30 November of each year in the areas referred to in Article 1 (2). The prohibition shall apply on an annual basis to all methods of fisheries and at all stages of life of the species.
