Abstract
This Law, consisting of three articles, ratifies the Statute of the Mediterranean Zoonoses Control Programme, drawn up by the World Health Organisation of the United Nations in 1978 and signed by Greece on 17 May 1984. The Mediterranean Zoonoses Control Programme concerns the prevention and control of zoonoses and foodborne diseases originating from animal products, and successfully promotes intergovernmental cooperation and develops related national programmes. The text of the Law reproduces the original English version and the Greek translation of the Statute.

The Statute of the Mediterranean Zoonoses Control Programme of 1984 was ratified with Act No. 1625 of 1986 (this Act shall enter into force as from the date of its publication on the Official Gazette, 18 July 1986); the Statute was signed by the Greek Government on 17 May 1984. The text of the Statute is attached to the aforementioned Act.
