Abstract
The law ratifies all the provisions of the Protocol for the protection of the Mediterranean sea against pollution form land-based sources and the Protocol concerning Mediterranean specially protected areas and the Annexes related thereto. The law, consisting of six articles, is composed as follows: ratification of the protocols (art. 1). This article contains the original text of the Protocols; implementation (art. 2). The article lays down the requirements and procedures for the implementation of the Protocols and establishes the competent authorities for this purpose; requirements, sanctions and appeals (art. 3). In this article are prescribed the obligations of those responsible for pollution and the procedures for the imposition of sanctions and request for appeals; amendment and completion of the Protocols (art. 4). The article provides for the issuance of presidential decrees to align the national provisions with future amendments and completions of the present Protocols; revocation (art. 5). It is possible, in case of war occurrence, the partial or total revocation of the implementation of the ratified texts of the Protocols; entry into force (art. 6).
