Law no. 5011 of 2023. Ratification of the Agreement for the Conservation of Cetaceans of the Black Sea, the Mediterranean and the Contiguous Atlantic Area, the Final Act related to the Agreement and the amendments adopted by the Meeting of the Parties to the Agreement by Resolution A/4.1 of 12 November 2010.

This Law, consisting of 4 articles, provides for the ratification of the Agreement for the Conservation of Cetaceans of the Black Sea, the Mediterranean and the Contiguous Atlantic Area, the Final Act relating to the Agreement, signed in Monaco on November 24, 1996, and the amendments adopted by the Meeting of the Parties to the Agreement, with Resolution A/4.1, signed in Monaco on November 12, 2010, whose texts, both in the original English language and in the translated Greek version, are attached to this Law. The Law empowers the Ministry of Environment and Energy as the competent authority for implementing the Agreement and preparing specific actions plans and programmes for the protection and conservation of cetaceans in accordance to Article II and Annex 2 of the Agreement.
