Abstract
This Law provides for improving the management of coastal areas, in order to ensure their utilisation in a way that is beneficial for the national economy, protective for the environment and consistent with the public interest, particularly through an integrated framework of compliance and enforcement of rules that have been set for the protection of the shores and the beaches. The Law concerns: beach; conservation and protection of the coast from erosion; protection of coastline; concession for beach and coast land use; riparian zone of lakes and navigable rivers; port; port management; demarcation of the coastline and the beach; land registration; zoning; right of use and concessions of beach and coastal zones; procedural matters concerning use and exploitation of beach and coastal zones; monitoring platform operation and control of single-use concession contracts; administrative and criminal sanctions. Further matters covered by this Law include: strengthening demographic and social measures, through funding and incentives; strengthening the energy sufficiency of the islands.
