Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Development of the Hellenic Republic and the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Lebanese Republic on cooperation in the field of energy. (Law No. 3803/2009).

The two Parties, recognising the importance of the new sources of clean energy and energy efficiency in ensuring security of supply and promoting environmental protection and sustainable economic development, with the present Memorandum of Understanding aim to establish a framework for the basis of joint cooperation in the field of energy with specific emphasis on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. The objectives of the Memorandum have in view to enhance collaboration in the following areas: promote bilateral cooperation in the energy field; share experience with regard to the development of the energy sector; share experience with regard to the best practices for efficient implementation of the policies and strategies in the energy sector; design policies for promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency; identify financial mechanisms for facilitation investments in the field of renewable energy. For the purposes of the implementation of the objectives of this Memorandum of Understanding, a Joint Committee is hereby established.
