Ministerial Decision no. 1497/224220/2024. Surveillance program for classical swine fever (CSF) and swine vesicular disease (SVD).

This Ministerial Decision implements the national surveillance programme for classical swine fever, as well as swine vesicular disease, within the whole territory of the Greece in accordance with article 26 of Regulation (EU) 2016/429. The objective of the Decision is to maintain the country as a swine fever-free by the following measures: constant supervision and monitoring of the animal owners and pig farms; improving know-how of the veterinary laboratories regarding the methods and techniques of diagnosis of the disease. The Decision concerns the following matters: establishment and duties of the competent authorities; detailed procedures of passive and active surveillance; penalties and offences.
