Abstract
This Ministerial Decision establishes biosecurity measures in order to prevent the spread of bird flu. The Decision concerns: specific measures for keeping poultry farms, for separating different animal species, and for keeping veterinary authorities informed in case of increased morbidity or mortality of poultry, birds and wild birds; obligations of owners of poultry categories and species to implement appropriate systems of protection of their holdings in order to prevent the contact of farmed poultry with wild birds; to protect facilities for animal feed production from any approaches of wild birds and other animals; to implement systems for disinfecting the entrances of vehicles and buildings; to implement early bird flu detection and monitoring systems. Further matters covered by this Decision include: measures on organic poultry production; measures for protecting quality of meat and poultry products intended for human consumption; protection measures for birds in zoos, shops and street markets; veterinary terms and conditions of production, transportation, handling and disposal of performance poultry for trade.
