Ministerial Decree No. 162437 establishing terms, conditions, procedures, controls and supporting documents for subsiding Action 1.3 “Education for apiarists”, within the implementation framework of the three-year program for the improvement of production and marketing of apiculture products, 2011-2013.

With the present Decree, the beekeeping educational programme is implemented, as described in Action 1.3 “Education for apiarists” within the implementation framework of the three-year program for the improvement of production and marketing of apiculture products, 2011-2013. The implementation of this Action shall be ensured through regular and ad-hoc controls and technical and economic audits. The duration of each educational cycle is set to three days in each eligible region for each year so as, by the completion of each three-year programme, to have covered the following thematic units: methods of intensive exploitation of bee colonies; bee breeding and queen rearing; recognition and control of bee diseases; beehive products; beehive handling – apiarian equipment; apiarian plants; legislation and programmes; standardization and marketing of apiculture products. The programme shall be held from 1 February until 15 May of each year. Exceptionally, the educational programme for the year 2011 shall be completed within the 31 st of July. The regions in which the programme shall be implemented will be chosen taking into consideration the number of beehives and interested apiarists as well as the geographic particularities of each region. The Decree establishes the sum of the subsidy, requirements for the beneficiaries, required documentation and procedures to be followed.
