Ministerial Joint Decree No. 240516 regarding the Technical Regulation for the trade of plant propagating material.

This Decree regulates matters concerning the import and trade of plant propagating material. The right for importation of plant propagating material have the companies which are registered into the apposite Register of the Ministry of Agriculture. In compliance with the requirements of Presidential Order No. 283/21.08.86: imports of plant propagating material from other E.U. country-members is allowed, provided that such material is registered into the National Registers of plant propagating material of each country-member; imports of plant propagating material from third countries is allowed, provided the equivalent laps of time prescribed by the European Union; imports of plant propagating material -which is not registered into National Registers- from third countries is allowed, provided a specific approval by the competent national authorities. This Decree regulates also matters concerning packaging and labelling, covering importation certificates, import permits, restrictive measures on the issuing of such permits.
