Ministerial Joint Decree No. 312751 establishing the three-year apiculture Programme (years 2011, 2012 and 2013), in compliance with Council Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007.

This Decree, by the Ministers of Rural Development and Food, Economics, Internal affairs and Decentralisation and the Minister of Electronic Governance, establishes the three-year national apiculture Program and provides for the clearance of funds connected thereto. With the Decree, credit for the implementation of the individual Actions of the Programme for the year 2011 is also approved. The 2011-2013 Programme is established with a view to improving the general conditions for honey production and marketing of apiculture products in Greece and is the follow up of the existing 2008-2010 beekeeping Program which has expired on 31 August 2010 and included similar structure and actions. The Community shall provide part-financing for the apiculture programme equivalent to fifty percent of the total expenditures. For this Programme, the sum of 16,6 millions of Euro is allocated for the three-year period while the sum of 5,4 millions of Euro has been approved for the year 2011 for the following actions: technical assistance (Action 1); rationalisation of transhumance (movable beehives) (Action 3); support measures for laboratory analysis of the chemical and natural characteristics of honey (Action 4); applied research (Action 6). Decrees issued by the Minister of Rural Development and Food shall determine the details of implementation, the beneficiaries, the sums of subsidy per Action, the transfer of funds, the terms and conditions on the provision of financial support, the required documentation and in general any measure deemed necessary for the implementation of the present Programme.
