Abstract
The Decree approves the Supreme Chemistry Council s Decision to harmonize the Greek legislative frame with Commission Directive 2002/67/EC on the labelling of foodstuffs containing quinine and caffeine. By way of derogation from provisions in force regarding labelling of foodstuffs, quinine and caffeine used as flavouring in the production or preparation of foodstuffs must be mentioned by name in the list of ingredients. In general, the indication of the amount of caffeine on labels must be clearly stated if the percentage exceeds 150 ml/l. Pursuant to these provisions, article 145 of the Food Code is here by replaced.
