Abstract
Aim of the present Decree is the transposition into the national legislation and implementation of Commission Directive 91/321/EEC and the establishment of compositional and labelling requirements for infant formulae and follow-on formulae intended for use by infants. The Greek Organization of Pharmaceuticals (E.O.F.) shall perform controls so as to ensure that the products covered under the provisions of this Decree may be advertised, labelled and placed on the market only if they conform to the definitions and rules laid down in this Decree. No product other than infant formula may be marketed or otherwise represented as suitable for satisfying by itself the nutritional requirements of normal healthy infants during the first four to six months of life. Infant and follow-on formulae shall be manufactured from substances and food ingredients defined in the Annexes attached to this Decree, whose suitability for particular nutritional use by infants from birth has been established by generally accepted scientific data.
