Abstract
The Decree lays down provisions for the transposition into the national legislation and application of Commission Directive 96/5/EC on processed cereal-based foods and baby foods for infants and young children. The provisions shall covers foodstuffs for particular nutritional use fulfilling the particular requirements of infants and young children and shall comprise processed cereal-based foods (pastas, rusks, biscuits and other) and baby foods. This Decree shall not apply to milks intended for young children. The Decree provides for the composition of such foodstuffs and their processing, labeling and marketing. Trade in products which do not comply with the provisions of this Decree shall be prohibited, with effect form from 31 March 1999.
