Presidential Decree no. 39 of 2023 - Establishment and maintenance of the Register of Environmental Auditors of the Ministry of Environment and Energy and regulation of issues concerning Environmental Auditors.

This Presidential Decree, implementing provisions of article 20, paragraph 18 of the Law 4014/2011, provides for regulating the issues concerning environmental auditors. The Law concerns: the creation of the register of the environmental auditors, the management of the electronic system and its database; the linkage between the register of the environmental auditors and the electronic environmental register for monitoring the environmental performance of a project or activity; the classification of environmental auditors in four categories; terms and conditions for the registration of environmental auditors; environmental controller's license, and training and examination procedure for its issuance; requirements for carrying out environmental inspections, and related fees; competences and duties of environmental auditors while performing inspections, including assistance to the Hellenic recycling organisation; monitoring the work of environmental auditors; liability and sanctions.
