Presidential Decree No. 48/2018 on Regulatory measures for fishing Holothuria spp.

The purpose of this Decree is to adopt regulatory measures for fishing Holothuria spp species (sea cucumber) for their use as bait in commercial and recreational fishing and for human consumption, and in particular: a) granting fishing licenses to commercial fishing vessels (art. 2), b) determine allowable fishing gear and fishing methods (art. 3), c) establish allowable fishing periods and fishing areas (art. 4), d) establish a minimum allowable size and the maximum allowable catch (art. 5), e) set forth catch registration rules (art. 6) and f) establish measures to keep the population of that species (art. 7). The provisions of this Decree apply throughout the national territory for fishing of Holothuria species.
