Abstract
This Decree approves the Regulation on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The Regulation, consisting of 36 articles divided into eight Chapters and four Annexes, aims to establish standards for the protection of all species of Wild Fauna and Flora registered in Annexes I, II and III of CITES, as well as the framework of the national CITES Management and Scientific Body and trade species, thus guaranteeing the conservation and sustainable exploitation of wild flora and fauna. The provisions of this Regulation are applicable to international trade, domestic trade, the possession and transport of all species of Fauna and Flora registered in Annexes I, II and III. Importation, exportation, re-exportation, transit, transhipment and introduction of species from the sea listed in Annexes I, II and III are subject to the provisions of this Decree, which will comply with the requirements and provisions of the CITES. By Order and whenever deemed necessary, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock, on a proposal from the technical forestry council, a group of CITES, proceeds to update the Annexes referred to in the previous paragraph.
