Abstract
This Law, consisting of three Chapters and five Annexes, establishes the boundaries of the Maritime Zones under the sovereignty or jurisdiction of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. It defines the system of straight baselines from which the width of the territorial sea is measured, as well as the widths and the outer limits of the zones under the sovereignty or jurisdiction of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. It repeals Law No. 2/85 and Law No. 3/85 both of 17 May, which respectively established the geographical coordinates corresponding to the baselines for measuring the breadth of the Territorial Sea in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and their boundaries. The Law is divided as follows: General Part (Chap. I); Baseline, Width and Outer Zones Limits of Maritime Zone (Chap. II); Final provisions (Chap. III). Annexes specify and lay down all related geographical coordinates and Maps representing the outline of the baselines and the outer boundaries of the Territorial Sea, Contiguous Zone and Exclusive Economic Zone.
