Abstract
This Act provides that no person shall export or sell balata (defined in section 2) without a license granted by the District Commissioner. A license shall be issued only to: a holder of a license to obtain balata under the State Lands Regulations; to an owner or occupier of land on which bullet trees grow; or an agent of a grower of holder of a license to obtain balata. The District Commissioner shall not be bound to grant a license. Purchase of balata also requires a license. Everyone licensed to export, sell or purchase balata shall keep records on transactions that may be inspected by any officer. If a license is granted to an owner of occupier of private land on which bullet trees grow, the license shall specify the quantity of balata that may be sold or exported. The Act shall not apply to imported balata.
