Abstract
The Hydro-Electric Power Act is amended, apart from some minor amendments, in section 6(3) by adding the a provision concerning approval of the terms and conditions for the purchase and transmission of electric energy by the governing body of the public supplier and in case of rates the Public Utilities Commission. Terms and conditions shall meet the criteria set out in comma (b). The Guyana Energy Agency Act 1997 is amended, apart from some minor amendments, by substituting for section 7(1) the following provision: “(1) The following conferred on the President by the Hydro-Electric Power Act and the Regulations made thereunder shall, with effect from the commencement of this Act, be exercised by the Minister, and the provision of that Act relating to the functions of the President shall be read and construed and have effect as if references therein to the President were references to the Minister.”
