Abstract
This Act lays down provisions on the establishment, powers, functions, and funds of the Veterinary Board, duties of veterinarians and animal health assistants, and offences and penalties. The functions of the Board include registration of veterinarians and animal health assistants, evaluation of applicants and their qualifications, investigation of registered veterinarians and animal health assistants upon complaints, provision of continuous veterinary medical education to veterinarians and animal health assistants, and establishment of professional conduct standards for the practice of veterinary medicine. The Registrar shall be responsible for keeping the Register of Veterinarians and the Register of Animal Health Assistants.
