Abstract
These Regulations lay down requirements for staffing, administration, construction, design and maintenance of wildlife holding premises. Furthermore, these Regulations list the obligations of the wildlife holding premises, such as providing adequate supply of water for drinking and washing purposes at all times; offering a variety of safe and palatable food in sufficient quantities; separation of specimens for export from other wild specimens; housing wild animals according to their classification; minimization of predator and prey interactions; control, observation and inspection of animals; identification of animals; arrangement of cages for adequate sanitation and ventilation and their disinfection at least twice weekly; daily removal of excrement and other animal waste, leftover food, unwholesome food and other waste; warning labels for the enclosure of dangerous animals; possession of specific and separate quarantine area for new arrivals; registration of the birth, acquisitions, sales, disposals and deaths of all animals; and establishment of a safe, effective and regular program for the control of insects, ectoparasites and vertebrate pests.
