Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on regulating water management relations.

This Decree adopts the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on regulating water management relations. The provisions of this Agreement refer to all water management relations, measures taken and works on border watercourses and watercourses that are crossed by the state border and on their catchment areas and waters of the territorial sea, which may have a significant impact on the mentioned watercourses and waters of the territorial sea from a water management point of view, and especially to: a) determination of water balances of surface and underground waters; b) protection and defense against the harmful effects of water; c) arrangement and maintenance of watercourses; d) use of waters and waters of the territorial sea; e) protection of waters and waters of the territorial sea from pollution; f) protection of the water environment from harmful influences and procedures; g) collection and exchange of data, research, design, execution and observations; h) mutual notification, informing and consulting (The competent authorities of the Contracting Parties shall inform each other as quickly as possible about the dangers of floods and ice, sudden and extraordinary pollution of surface and underground waters, as well as other threatening dangers regarding watercourses, catchment areas and waters of the territorial sea referred to in this Agreement).
