Anti-corruption strategy.

This publication, based on the provisions of article 81 of the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia, provides for national Anti-corruption strategy. Chapter 2 provides for the full list of principles and objectives. Chapter 3 sets indications on legal framework. Institutional framework is defined in Chapter 4. Chapter 6 prescribes issues regarding prosecution and application of criminal Law. Chapter 7 is regarding the international cooperation. Chapter 8 is on public awareness of corruption damages.
In accordance with the public perception of corruption in society, the following are indicated as priority goals in the implementation of this Strategy: improving the legal and institutional framework for effective and systematic fight against corruption; affirmation of the "zero tolerance" approach to corruption; strengthening integrity, accountability and transparency of the government in this regard and strengthening citizens' trust in state institutions; creating preconditions for preventing corruption at all levels; raising the level of effectiveness of detection and prosecution of corruption offenses; raising public awareness of the harmfulness of corruption and the need to combat it; improving international cooperation in combating corruption and corrupted practices; improving cooperation between state bodies responsible for the implementation of this Strategy; improving cooperation with civil society organizations.
