Decision on green public procurement in central public procurement procedures.

This Decision, based on the provisions Law on the Government of the Republic of Croatia, determines that the Central State Office for Central Public Procurement is obliged to apply green public procurement criteria in central public procurement procedures as part of the technical specification and/or criteria for selection of tenders in all central public procurement procedures, where this is in line with technical suitability, the financial capacity of the central public procurement beneficiary, wider sustainability and a sufficient level of competition. The stated obligation primarily refers to the procurement categories such as office supplies, consumables, computers and computer equipment, motor vehicles and electricity supply. Green public procurement criteria are based on the common criteria of the European Commission for green public procurement. The Ministry responsible for environmental protection is instructed to publish the annual savings of carbon dioxide emissions resulting from the implementation of this Decision on the national website for green public procurement, as specified in article 2.
