Forestry seed and seedling act.

The 86 sections of this Act are divided into 8 Parts: General Provisions (1); Forestry Seed (2); Forestry Seedling (3); Supervision of Import (4); Indemnity (5); Inspection and Control (6); Offences and Penalties (7); Transitional and Final Provisions (8).
This Act establishes conditions for the production and trade of forestry seeds and seedlings for afforestation purposes. It contains definitions of various terms therein employed such as forestry seed, forestry seedling, planting material, etc. The production of forestry seeds and seedlings is subject to a licence. The Act establishes the Forestry Seed and Seedling Committee, which shall be responsible for the control of the quality and production. The Act also sets out requirements for the final processing, packaging, transportation and import of forestry seed and seedling material. The system of inspection is carried out by forest inspectors. The supervision of this Act is entrusted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
