Abstract
This Law amends several provisions part of the Law on radiological and nuclear safety (originally published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia 141/2013).
Changes are in article 2 (list of indicated European Union reference documents, added: Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom of 5 December 2013 laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation, and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/29/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom); article 3 (list of cases where the terms of this Law shall not apply); definitions and official denominations (article 4); disposal and storage of nuclear waste (article 51); financing the management of radioactive waste, disused sources and spent nuclear fuel (article 52); and in certain inspection related provisions (article 89).
The Fund for Financing the Decommissioning and Disposal of Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel at the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant is obliged to harmonize its statute within six months from the day this Law enters into force. The Government of the Republic of Croatia shall, within six months from the date of entry into force of this Law, adopt the decree referred to in article 11, paragraph 2 of this text. Within two years from the day this Law enters into force, the State Institute for Radiological and Nuclear Safety shall adopt necessary regulations as referred to in article 6, paragraph 2 of this text.
