Abstract
This Action Plan provides a set of measure aimed for Radon (222Rn), which is a radioactive gas formed by the radioactive decay of radio (226Ra) within the uranium (238U) that has a series of radioactive decays, including radium found in soil and rocks. Radon and its short-lived decay products in the atmosphere contribute the most to the radiation (total annual effective dose) of the entire population. The long-term goal of this Action Plan is, by applying well-thought-out and coordinated measures, to contribute to the reduction of radon radiation of people living in the Republic of Croatia and consequently to reduce the risk of lung cancer associated with increased radon radiation.
