Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the conditions for the correct and mandatory acceptance of breeding cattle, their semen, ova and embryos.
Without prejudice to the provisions concerning animal health, the acceptance of pure-bred breeding female animals of the bovine species for breeding purposes and the acceptance of pure-bred breeding bulls for natural service cannot be prohibited, restricted or impeded. The same applies to the use of ova and embryos of pure-bred female animals.
This Regulation also adopts the measures and standards part of the Council Directive 87/328/EEC on the acceptance for breeding purposes of pure-bred breeding animals of the bovine species.
