Abstract
This Regulation prescribes all necessary and specific rules and standards aimed to provide full compliance with hygiene and other requirements also implemented by various Council Directives and particularly focused on: a) the collection of information during inspections carried out by the competent authorities; b) the reporting of all necessary information to the Commission and its responsible bodies.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for the provisions of the article 8 which shall enter into force on the day of accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.

This Regulation transposes various standards provided by the following documents: Commission Decision 2006/778 of 14 November 2006 concerning minimum requirements for the collection of information during the inspections of production sites on which certain animals are kept for farming purposes; Council Directive 91/629 of 19 November 1991 laying down minimum standards for the protection of calves; Council Directive 91/630 of 19 November1991 laying down minimum standards for the protection of pigs; Council Directive 98/58 of 20 July1998 concerning the protection of animals kept for farming purposes; and Council Directive 1999/74 of 19 July 1999 laying down minimum standards for the protection of laying hens.
